Adoptions
BBGDR concentrates on adopting our Danes to a home that is a perfect fit. We do not operate on a first come first serve basis and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Our main goal in adoption is to place our animals into the best permanent situation for them. Many have had a rough start and have bounced from place to place. We want them to become part of the perfect FOREVER home that they deserve. We do not concentrate on the number of dogs pushed out our door in rapid adoption but rather that the animals we do adopt out find the perfect fit for a lifetime of wonderful memories shared.
All adoption fees are a donation to go back to the rescue to be put toward the vetting and care of the animals. Great Dane adoption fees start at $175 and go up to $500 maximum. Average vet cost for a dog we get in ranges from $150 to $2000 or higher. We not only invest our time and money but we put our hearts into these animals. BBGDR carefully screens potential adopters to ensure that the perfect forever homes are found. Hello, my name is Bernie! I am a handsome guy who is looking for a loving home! I am housetrained. I am great with children, strangers, and everyoneelse! I LOVE LOVE LOVE people! I have been attacked by dogs prior to coming to BBGDR so I am selective on who I make friends with ( i don't do well with dominant dogs). I would love to be an only dog. I think I am a person and I want to everything with my owner. I am not a wanderer but I still need a fenced in yard. I have had a tough start at life (I was removed from my home due to neglect) so I would be eternally greatful for a loving forever home! I am an indoor dog. I am not food agressive. I will get on the couch if I am called up, but if I am not called I will not get up there on my own. I do love attention! I pant when I am excited and drool some too. I love playing with toys and I will carry them everywhere. I am a very happy go lucky guy who's tail is always waggin'! I love being close to my people and I walk great on a leash. I am always happy to meet someone new, maybe you could be my forever home???

Chay is a lover, he is one of the best house dogs you will find. He is not destructive and is very well socialized. Loves the dog park. Great with dogs both large and small. He has been raised with cats. He loves people. He is not vocal but will bark if people are at the door. Chay enjoys playing with toys and eating frozen food out of his Kong. He is not food agressive. He has been through obedience training and knows the commands sit, down, roll over, and more. He will require continued obedience. He is an indoor only dog. He is a cuddle bug. He does not jump up on people or furniture.
